Biography
Lay-Kim, TAN, is an active researcher in National Institutes of Health, Ministry of Health Malaysia since 2011. In March 2021, she was awarded Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Science from University Kuala Lumpur Royal College of Medicine Perak, Malaysia. Her research area of interest are molecular epidemiology and molecular pathology particularly in rheumatoid arthritis. She has actively involved in other rheumatic diseases research including but limited to ankylosing spondylitis, systemic systemic lupus erythematosus and psoriatic arthritis. With the advent technology of computational science in rheumatology research, she has developed her special interest in big data analyses using different bioinformatic approaches/tools to fine map the genetic risk factors in rheumatoid arthritis in Malaysian population. She has authored and co-authored in several peer-reviewed local and international medical journals and as well as presentations at international rheumatology conferences including EULAR, APLAR, and KCR.
