Biography

Mrs Koinis is currently the Director of finance and operations at WAGAR (Wearables and Gait Assessment Research) group and the product development and research managger at a medical technology company, Jasper MedTech, which strives to develop innovative devices to advance healthcare. She has collaborated on several medical research papers, primarily relating to wearable devices and motion algorithms.
Mrs Koinis holds a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours and a Graduate Diploma of Business. Her thesis focused on the influence of attachment styles on domestic violence victimisation.

Mrs Koinis’ research focuses include attachment styles, the influence of advances in technology on mental healthcare, the application of artificial intelligence, wearable devices and objective quality of life algorithms. She is about to embark on a PhD focusing on advancing depression analysis through the integration of objective data streams derived from wearable health technologies. By leveraging biometric and behavioral data such as motion health, sleep patterns, vocal characteristics, bioimpedance, and heart rate variability, her research aims to enhance the accuracy and reliability of depression assessment, moving beyond the limitations of traditional subjective scoring systems.
