Biography

Lorena Gómez Calvo, BSc in Biotechnology (Girona’s University, Spain) in 2018; Master’s degree in applied microbiology at UAB (Spain) in 2020.
I have worked on national and international projects in the microbiology area, such as MACBIOBLUE and MICRO T1D. Currently, I am a researcher at the Biotechnology group of the USC (Spain) where I work on the H2020 project NeoGiANT "The power of grape extracts: antimicrobial and antioxidant properties to prevent the use of antibiotics in farmed animals" and develop my PhD on the use of probiotics and natural extracts to combat foodborne contaminants in industrial and farm-to-fork settings.
