Biography
Lyudmila Vasylivna Pet’ko, Ph.D. in Pedagogy, Associate Professor, Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Natural and Geographical Education and Ecology, Dragomanov National Pedagogical University (Kyiv, Ukraine).
Education. Lyudmila Vasylivna Pet’ko gradueted Kyiv National Linguistic University (Faculty of Germanic Philology) and Kryvyi Rih Pedagogical University (Music and Pedagogy Faculty) Cum Laude.
She started her professional career as a secondary school teacher and worked as an organizer of extracurricular and out-of-school activities as well as a deputy head teacher for curriculum and discipline, At the same time she became interested in the scientific work and finished the postgraduate study at Kyiv National Linguistic University. As a result of her scientific and practical activity she successfully defended the thesis of Candidate of Pedagogy (2007). Experience Lyudmila Vasylivna Pet’ko is a member of the specialized Academic council on theses defense K 26.053.09 (“Theory and Methods of Upbringing” and “Social Pedagogy” specialties) at National Pedagogical Dragomanov University. She successfully completed the ELT Training Workshop “Teaching Presentation Skills” (2009) and received the corresponding certificate of the Embassy of the United States to Ukraine in Kyiv. Her scope of scientific interests encompasses modern comparative and pedagogical, interdisciplinary researches on teaching foreign languages to professionals in institutions of higher education, discovery and development of talented youth (more than 400 research articles were published in collaboration with her students). Over the recent years, Lyudmila Vasylivna Pet'ko prepared 12 participants of the International Children's Competition in English “Good Luck” held in Noginsk, Moscow Region, Russia (2003-2009), the only one in Europe for 10-year-old kids and approved by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Publications. Lyudmila Vasylivna Pet’ko is an author of more than 400 research pieces, including 7 monographs, 99 textbooks of English, German and French (44 of which were approved by the commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and recommended as textbooks for students studying at institutions of higher education), research papers published in leading professional publications, 20 methodological recommendations (curricula, teaching and methodological complexes of English and German), abstracts of scientific and practical conferences.
Her works were published in Ukraine, Austria, Australia, Barbados, Belgium, Great Britain, Venezuela, Bulgaria, Greece, India, Northern Ireland, Israel, Spain, Italy, Canada, Kazakhstan, China, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Germany, UAE, South Republic, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Finland, France, Czech Republic, USA, Sweden, Japan.
