Biography
Dr. Harikrishnan Pulikkalparambil is currently an Assistant Professor at the School of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), Kerala, India. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Polymer Engineering from Mahatma Gandhi University (2012), a Master of Technology in Polymer Technology from Cochin University of Science and Technology (2016), and a Doctor of Engineering in Materials & Production Engineering from The Sirindhorn International Thai-German Graduate School of Engineering at King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), Thailand (2021). He has completed two Postdoctoral fellowships: a 12-month fellowship at KMUTNB under the "Foreign Postdoctoral Fellowship" program (2021–2022) and a 2-month fellowship at the Department of Packaging and Materials Technology, Kasetsart University, Thailand under the prestigious "Reinventing University Program." (2022). Additionally, he gained valuable research experience during a short-term research stint at the Leibniz-Institut für Polymerforschung Dresden e. V., Germany, as a Guest scientist in 2019. Dr. Harikrishnan has a diverse background in academia and industries, with nearly two years of industrial experience and over four years of part-time teaching experience in Thailand and India. Additionally, he holds life membership in numerous esteemed professional societies, including the Asian Polymer Association, Society for Polymer Science in India, Indian Plastic Institute, and several others. His contributions to the scientific community include 35 research papers in high-quality international peer-reviewed journals, 1 editorial corner, 11 book chapters, 3 Thailand patents (1 awarded in 2023), 2 edited books, and numerous presentations at national and international conferences in India and abroad. He has been invited to deliver lectures at various international conferences and workshops. Furthermore, Dr. Harikrishnan has served as the Managing Editor of a special issue in the Scopus indexed Journal of Applied Science and Engineering Progress. His research prowess is reflected in his H-index of 14 (Google Scholar) and 12 (Scopus), along with nearly 760 citations. Dr. Harikrishnan won the esteemed "Best Paper Award—Scientist" in Engineering and Technology at the 34th Kerala Science Congress held in 2022. The recognition was granted by the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology, and Environment (KSCSTE), an authoritative government body in Kerala, India. His research areas encompass the preparation and characterization of self-healing coatings, biopolymers, polymer composites, blends, novel fibers, food packaging materials, and recycling polymers.
