Biography
Marco Rinaldi (Torino, 1997) received his BSc in Mechanical Engineering and his MSc in Mechatronic Engineering from Politecnico di Torino in 2019 and 2021, respectively. His MSc thesis was developed at the Centre for Aviation, Zurich University of Applied Sciences, focusing on the analysis and configuration of a control loading system for flight simulation. He is a PhD Candidate in Aerospace Engineering at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Politecnico di Torino. He was a visiting PhD Student at the Department of Aerospace Engineering, University of Maryland, in 2023 and 2024. During his doctoral studies, he focused on investigating novel technology perspectives for enabling drone-based operations in urban air mobility context, including multi-agent task allocation and planning, artificial intelligence, system identification and control. He has been a member of the Italian Professional Order of Engineers (Section A – Sector of Information Technology Engineering) since 2022. He currently works as Research Fellow at Politecnico di Torino. His research interests revolve around automation engineering, unmanned aerial vehicles, urban air mobility, and aerospace applications.
