Biography
I'm a pharmacist and an applied enzymologist with a passion for unlocking the full potential of enzymes in biotechnology. With extensive experience in areas like synthetic biology, omics, and biocatalysis, I've worked to improve enzymatic performance and develop new applications for enzymes in a range of industries.
Currently, I'm the founder of NexVitro Biologics a startup focused on providing high-quality, affordable lab consumables for molecular diagnoses in developing economies. I'm also a postdoctoral researcher at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), where I'm working on exciting biocatalysis projects, including deriving flavoring and bioactive compounds from natural sources in lignocellulosic biomass and removing non-biodegradable plastics from the environment.
Throughout my career, I've been driven to find new trends and establish international connections, bringing innovative solutions to the market. With international experience studying and working in Brazil, the Netherlands, Argentina, and the UK, I've gained a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing the biotech industry.
I hold degrees from the University of Western Paraná (UNIOESTE, Brazil), Utrecht University (Netherlands), UNICAMP, and the Manchester University Institute of Biotechnology (MU-MIB-UK), and I'm always looking for new ways to apply my knowledge and skills.
