Biography
Wei Qu received the M.S. degree from Chang’an University, Xi’an, China, in 2008 and the Ph.D. degree also from the Chang’an University, Xi’an, China, in 2011. He is currently a associate professor and is a principal Scientist of projects funded by the Natural Environmental Research Council (NERC), the Nature Science Fund of China (NSFC), the China 863 Project, the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation funded project, the Key Project of the Ministry of Land & Resources in China, on the study of land surface deformation using Global position system (GPS) monitoring data and satellite interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) imagery. He has produced more than 16 lead-authored and 33 coauthored peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters focused on the theory of adjustment and application. His research interests include technique developments of GPS, InSAR, processing and their applications on crustal deformation, coseismic deformation, and natual hazard monitoring.
Dr. Qu was the recipient of the people’s government of Shaanxi province for Science and Technology Progress Award, the people’s government of Shaanxi province for outstanding doctoral dissertation, and the State Bureau of Surveying and mapping geographic information for the first prize of progress of science and technology of Surveying and mapping. He is a Committee Member of the earthquake Association in Shaaxi province.
