Biography

Hamza Riaz is serving as a PhD Scholar at School of Computing, Dublin City University (DCU) under SFI Centre for Research Training in Machine Learning, Ireland. In his research program, he is exploring AI in Education.

He did his master degree in biomedical engineering from Gachon University Medical campus incheon, South Korea where he also served as software Engineer for two years and he secured CGPA of 4.20/4.50. During his master study, he learned about different approaches related to Machine learning and Computer Vision based on classifications, object detection (2D&3D), and segmentation (2D&3D). He has hands on experience with deep learning models specifically, VggNet, DenseNet, Mask RCNN, YOLO, SegNet, U-Net, Multi-Person Pose Detection, GANs, RNNs for natural language processing and many others. In his master degree, he did research in the field of deep learning to produce a quality work in medical and industrial automation domains. Moreover, he made (2D) motion estimator and had hands on experience in deep learning models conversion for different platforms (ONNX).

Furthermore, he did bachelor in electrical engineering from COMSATS University Islamabad, Wah Campus, Pakistan in 2017. During the degree, he done volunteer work in Beta Facility Lab for Advance Automatic Control Technology. Then, he worked as a research assistant in the Department of Electrical Engineering at COMSATS and covered SVM, multi patches base learning, and satellite images analysis.

With all that experiences, his research interests lie in artificial intelligence, machine learning, AI in Education, Recommender Systems, computer vision, Video Processing, medical imaging, video surveillance systems, natural language processing, quantum computing, and robotics.
