Place and date of birth: 7th May 1974, Lisbon, Portugal.
Nationality: Portuguese and Spanish
Doctor of Philosophy at the University of the Algarve, Portugal. Thesis entitled “Trophic ecology of Sardina pilchardus”. Degree awarded with distinction summa cum laude in April 2007.
Master in Science of “Marine Sciences and Resources” at the Institut of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar, University of Porto (Portugal), obtaining the highest mark (“Muito Bom”); thesis entitled “Sardina pilchardus feeding in Portuguese waters and the relationship of the nutritional condition of females with their oocytes”. Degree awarded in June 2003.
Degree in Biology (1992-1998) in the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon (Portugal), 1998. Extracurricular year (1997-1998) at the Institut de Ciències del Mar (CSIC), Barcelona (Spain) - Erasmus scholarship, obtaining the classification of 20 over 20. Degree awarded in June 1998.
