He graduated in archaeology from the Jagiellonian University in 2002, defending his master's thesis entitled. "Nagada culture ceramic imports at northern Egyptian sites". He obtained his PhD in 2012 with a dissertation entitled. "The role of the Nile Delta in the rise of the Egyptian state". He also completed a degree in Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Silesia, defending his thesis entitled. "Middle Eastern Sources of Culture and Civilizational Transformations. Anthropological consequences of four inventions that changed the fate of mankind'.

Between 2000 and 2016, he was a member of the Polish Archaeological Expedition to the Eastern Nile Delta conducting excavations at Tell el-Farcha. He also participated in research work at Egyptian sites such as Abydos, Tellel-Fara'in-Buto, Deir el-Bersha and Tell el-Daba. He has also participated in numerous excavations in Poland as well as Ukraine (Ryzhanivka) and Cyprus (Nea Paphos).

Since 2014, he has been directing IA UJ's research in southern Jordan as part of the 'HLC Project'.
