Biography
Dr. Lee Jia is Distinguished Professor and the Director of Marine Drug R&D Center, Minjiang University, China. His research focuses on three aspects: 1) Cancer pre-metastasis chemoprevention; 2) Nitric oxide and S-nitrosylation bioengineering; 3) Nanotechnology for innovative drug delivery, biosensors, and biomaterials for precisely targeting CTCs. He received many prestigious awards, including the 2004 National Cancer Institute Merit Award (NIH); the 2012 American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Leadership Award; Fujian Science & Technology Innovation Leadership Award (2011); “The China Recruitment Program of Global Experts” (2011); “The Most Cited Chinese Researchers” selected by Scopus/Elsevier in the field of Pharmacology & Pharmaceuticals (2014-2019), or Chemical Engineering & Technology (2020); “Honorable Fuzhou City Citizen” (2014) awarded by the Fuzhou City Standing Committee. China Industry-University-Research Institute Cooperation Innovation (individual) Award (2017); WuXi AppTec Life Chemistry Research Award (2020); He was elected as the Fellow of AAPS (2011), and Academician of International Eurasian Academy of Sciences (IEAS; 2020); He was Chair of Section of Drug Discovery & Development (DDD) of AAPS (2019-2012), and Founding Chair of Section of Intelligent Functional Pharmaceutics, Chinese Pharmaceutical Association (CPA; 2021-). He has contributed >220 peer-reviewed papers, some published in the most impactful journals such as Nature, Science, Nature Communications, PNAS, Nano Today, Adv. Funct. Mater., Blood, Chem. Mater., Biomaterials. His work has been cited 16000 times, with an H-index 61, i10-index 190 (google scholar).
Dr. Jia obtained his PhD in Pharmacology in 1994 under supervision of Dr. Robert Furchgott (the 1998 Nobel Laureate) of the State University of New York, USA.
