Biography
UW-Madison Ph.D. Candidate.
Key to my interests is understanding the constitution of the mainstream media relationship between Mexico and the United States. By focusing on how this transnational relationship influences Mexican policy and communication media ecologies (i.e. public sphere), a broader, more fundamental interest is the impact that this relationship has on the cultural configuration of Mexican identity. Popular culture, media history, mass media conglomerates, (national) identity, and technology are primary research avenues. The different intersections between them are also relevant. How US media corporations intervened in the formation of Mexico’s media contents (particularly FM radio) and corporate mainstream media structures, have also been part of recent investigation efforts.
