Biography

Dr Diederik Meylemans graduated as MD at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium in 2009 (Magna Cum Laude), and further specialized in general surgery. As a surgeon (since 2015), he has completed a postgraduate training fellowship in abdominal wall repair and coloproctology with Dr Tollens (Imelda Hospital Bonheiden, Belgium) and a senior clinical fellowship in the Colorectal Department of the Oxford University Hospitals, before starting as general surgeon consultant in the Auckland City Hospital. His special interest goes out to acute surgical pathology & patient care and abdominal wall pathology. He is involved in clinical research, resulting in multiple peer-reviewed articles and presentations at national and international meetings.
