Biography
Sanjeev Chawla, PhD, is a Medical Physicist certified by American Board of Medical Physics and is currently working as a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology, Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA. Dr. Chawla’s research interest includes development and application of spectroscopic and physiologic MR imaging techniques to study brain tumors, head and neck cancers and neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Chawla received his Master’s degree in Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India and PhD degree from Sanjay Gandhi Post-graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, India. Dr. Chawla has authored 108 peer-reviewed original research/review articles and 8 book chapters. He is a recipient of research grant awards from NIH, ISMRM, Penn Center for Precision Medicine, McCabe foundation, Institute for Translational Medicine and Therapeutics and Research foundation of University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Chawla received Fulbright Scholarship Award for conducting research and teaching MRI Physics. He was presented with Outstanding Researcher Award in Neuroradiology from Venus International Foundation and Distinguished Investigator Award from Academy of Radiology and Biomedical Research Imaging.
