Biography

- From 1972 studies of sociology, philosophy and medicine at the FU Berlin

- 1977/78 studies and psychiatric internship in Italy

- Diploma in Sociology 1978 (Diploma thesis: "About Harry Stack Sullivan")

- Medical state examination 1984

- Doctorate in Philosophy 1999 ("On the Phenomenology of Schizophrenic Crises", published 2000 under the title "Schizophrene Krisen" by Verlag Huber, Bern)

- 1984 - 1991 Training as a specialist in psychiatry at the PKH Riedstadt, work in the institute outpatient clinic and for the Social Psychiatric Association Riedstadt

- since 1984 various psychotherapeutic trainings, since 1997 mindfulness-based psychotherapy.

- since 2007 mainly group therapies, supervisions, workshops, trainings, development of mindfulness-based therapy offers for different indications and for prevention; several publications (books and articles)

- since 2013 increasing engagement with Global Mental Health. Travels to Bali and the Ivory Coast.

- 2018 Founding of the non-profit "Mindful Change Foundation" (MCF). The foundation supports community psychiatric projects in poor countries, currently in Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso.
