Biography
Federico Romiti currently works in the Laboratory of Entomology of the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale del Lazio e Toscana as medical entomologist. Featured research implies vectors ecology and surveillance following the Italian Arboviruses National Plan (PNA 2020-2025), focusing on mosquito-borne diseases: Aedes spp. and Culex pipiens arboviruses and avian malaria. He's working on taxonomic review of the Afro-Indian genus Pseudoathyreus (Scarabaeoidea: Bolboceratidae) and on the ecology and threats for sand-dwelling beetles of coastal ecosystems, focusing on the trap effect of anthropogenic beach litter. Ongoing projects involve insect ecology and behavior, focusing on functional morphology and use of animal weapons.
