Biography

Dr. Hennessy is a researcher in the Department of Communication, University of Delaware. HIs interests are the integration of structural equation modeling and intervention program/behavioral theory, growth curve analysis of longitudinal data, and using factorial surveys to model individual decision making and to design behavioral interventions that work. He has published over 140 articles in journals as AIDS & Behavior, Evaluation Review, Structural Equation Modeling, Psychology Health & Medicine, Media Psychology, Evaluation Practice, the American Journal of Public Health, the Journal of Sex Research, and the Journal of Adolescent Health among others.
Dr. Hennessy was previously employed by the University of Pennsylvania (Annenberg School for Communication), the Centers for Disease Control (Division of STD Prevention), has held faculty positions at the University of Hawaii and Emory University (both in the Department of Sociology), and has worked in the private sector doing evaluation research (at Abt Associates, Inc. in Cambridge, MA, the Pacific Gas and Electric Company, San Francisco, CA, and the Prevention Research Center, Berkeley, CA). He likes cats, India Pale Ale, playing the French horn, and the music of Gustav Mahler.
