Biography
Pablo de Andrés (Ph.D., University of Valladolid, 1995) is a Professor of Finance, and the Head of the Finance Department at the Autonomous University of Madrid. He is also a Research Member of the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI). He has been Visiting Researcher at Harvard University in 2009, Visiting Scholar at the Cass Business School (City University London) between 2012 and 2014, and Fellow of the LSE Canada-Blanc Centre in 2022. He has been in charge of the Spanish Journal of Finance and Accounting (2010-2016) as executive editor and of the National Plan of Research, Development and Innovation in the field of Economics (2012-2015) leading the selection committee.
He has focused his research on the analysis of financial decisions, real options and corporate governance. His interest in corporate governance started early in his career, as he was awarded the European Investment Bank Prize for young researchers (1997) for his work "Financial system models, corporate governance and capital investment in OECD countries: Some stylized facts”. Since then, he has published his research in international Journals, like the Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, Financial Review, International Review of Financial Analysis, Corporate Governance: An International Review, Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, European Journal of Finance, or Business Research Quarterly, among others.
In the last years, he is specially interested in the interplay between corporate governance, finance and technology. He set up a lab with the startup Collisio Technologies, where a multidisciplinary team researches on the financing strategies through digital channels and assets.
