Biography

We are studying the mechanisms underlying human immune responses to mycobacteria. Major aims: To 1) identify immune markers able to define infection status and outcomes. TB lymphadenitis is a public health problem in Tunisia. Its diagnosis is challenging. We are funded to 2) identify biosignatures for diagnosis of TB lymphadenitis. As a Subawrd-PI of NIH-RO1 grant (Robert Modlin, UCLA) we are proposing to 3) study the cellular and molecular architecture of human TB granuloma. In my NIH international RO1 grant we are interested in determining the cellular and molecular architecture of TB lymphadeinitis granulomas, identifying biomarkers related to antimicrobial responses that correlate with the causative agent,
M. bovis vs. M. tuberculosis. During COVID19 pandemic we were inviloved to 4) study COVID19 seroserveillance and vaccine monitoring.
