Biography
I was born in La Palma d’Ebre (Tarragona, Spain) on 21 January 1968. I got my B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Barcelona (Faculty of Chemistry of Tarragona) in 1991, and my Ph.D. in chemometrics from the same faculty at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili in 1997. From 1997 to 1998 I worked as a postdoc with Prof. Age Smilde at the University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands). In 2002 I got a position of Associate Professor at the Department of Analytical Chemistry and Organic Chemistry of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, where I am teaching analytical chemistry and chemometrics since then. I have taught more than 50 courses on chemometrics and qualimetrics for public administrations and private companies, published about 50 scientific papers, and supervised six doctoral theses. My main research interests include qualimetrics, multivariate and multiway calibration, and classification methods.
