Biography

Jaime Renedo Anglada (Senior Member, IEEE) was born in Madrid, Spain in 1989. He received the M.Sc. degree in electro-mechanical engineering from the Comillas Pontifical University, Madrid, Spain, in 2013. He obtained the Ph.D. degree from the University of Southampton, U.K. in 2017. His research topic was the study of electric machines and drives for renewable energy applications.

From March of 2017 to March 2020, he was with the Magnets, Superconductors and Cryostats (MSC) group of the Technology Department at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). From 2020 to 2021 he worked with Swisspod Technologies, Switzerland on propulsion systems for hyperloop transportation, in particular on linear induction machines. Since 2021, Dr Renedo Anglada has been working with GE Research on electric machinery for a wide range of applications including renewable energy, grid applications, aviation and transportation electrification. Jaime is also an invited research fellow at the University of Southampton working on electric machines design. Dr Renedo Anglada was selected to participate in the National Academy of Engineering Frontiers of Engineering Symposium in 2023.
