Biography
Dr. Soosan Rowshanzamir has been a professor in Chemical Engineering, Oil and Gas Department of Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) for more than 20 years. Her courses include Unit Operations, Environmental Engineering, Special Separation Processes and Advanced Electrochemical Engineering. Her areas of expertise include energy conversion and storage systems (fuel cell, battery and supercapacitor) and electrochemical separations (water, sewage, fuel). Dr. Rowshanzamire’s work has been published at respected peer-reviewed journals, such as Journal of Power Sources, International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, Journal of Membrane Science and Energy.
She has an extensive work involving the synthesis and characterization of Ion Exchange Membranes (IEM) and removal of water pollutants by electrochemical separation methods. Most recently she has researching on membrane chlor-alkali process and capacitive deionization (CDI). In addition to laboratory research, she also works on Molecular Dynamics (MD) and Density Functional Theory (DFT).
She is a member of the board of directors of the Iranian Electrochemistry Society and Center of Excellence for Membrane Science and Technology, Iran University of Science and Technology, Tehran, Iran. Before joining IUST she was a researcher at Renewable Energy Organization of Iran (SUNA), Niroo Research Institute (NRI).
Dr. Rowshanzamir received her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Sharif University of Technology. Prior to her doctoral studies, she received her Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Tehnology, and Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Iran.
