PRESENT POSITION: Associate Professor in General Pathology at the Department of Experimental, Diagnostic and Specialty Medicine, University of Bologna. EDUCATION: PhD in Experimental Pathology. Degree in Biological Sciences (BiolD). TEACHING: Courses of General Pathology and History of Medicine, School of Medicine, University of Bologna. SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY: The scientific activity is focused on four main fields, concerning 1) the study of plant toxins, known as ribosome-inactivating proteins (RIPs), 2) the design and the in vitro and in vivo experimentation of immunotoxins, in order to obtain toxic pharmacological molecules specifically towards certain cellular targets responsible for a pathological state; 3) the study of enzymes that can vary the cellular REDOX balance; 4) impact of natural products on human health.
The results obtained in the researches have been published as about 100 papers in international journals.
Citations: - SCOPUS, more than 4500 , h-index = 38; - GOOGLE SCHOLAR, about 6400, h-index = 42, i10-index =75.
