Thomas Hoffmann studied sociology, psychology and political science at the Universities of Hamburg and Berlin. Practical experience as an adult educator in homes, day centers and sheltered workshops for people with severe and multiple handicaps. Adjunct professor and research fellow at the Universities of Hamburg, Cologne, and Ludwigsburg. From 2007 to 2018 Assistant Professor (Akademischer Oberrat) at the Department of Special Education at Ludwigsburg University of Education. 2015/2016 Visiting Professor at the Department of Special Education, Heidelberg University of Education and 2016/2017 Visiting Professor at the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Since 2018 Professur (Full) at the Institute for Teacher Education and School Research, University of Innsbruck.
