Biography
Nicolas Museux is an expert in symbolic artificial intelligence at Thales Research and Technology. He obtained his engineering degree in computer science focusing in artificial intelligence from ESIEA in 1998, and his doctorate from Mines Paristech in 2001 on automating signal processing parallelization with constraint programming. He worked few years on combinatorial optimization problems before focusing on event-based situational awareness with complex event processing rules. Since 2018, he leads a research theme devoted to hybrid artificial intelligence, combining knowledge models and data-based inference models. His own research focuses on sequential decision problems solved with declarative decision policies obtained by reinforcement learning. He is also interested in the development of methodologies and tools devoted to the evaluation of algorithms designed in the laboratory. He regularly takes part in European collaborative research projects, publishes his results in scientific articles and valorizes their use in patents for Thales.
