Biography
Dr. Ahmet Demirkıran, MD, PhD, is a cardiologist and expert in cardiac imaging, specialized in Cardiovascular MRI and CT. His clinical research primarily focuses on myocardial tissue characterization post-myocardial infarction and intra-cardiac 4D flow assessment using Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Dr. Demirkıran obtained his Medical Doctor and Cardiologist degrees from Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. He completed a two-year fellowship in Cardiovascular MRI/CT at Amsterdam UMC, achieving Level 3 (highest) Competency in Cardiovascular MRI, as recognized by the EACVI. He was awarded the esteemed EACVI Research Grant for his innovative research. Additionally, Dr. Demirkıran earned his PhD in Cardiovascular MRI from Amsterdam UMC. His work has been published in prestigious journals such as the European Heart Journal and Circulation. He also serves as the Vice-Chair of the SCMR Translations Committee and is a member of the EACVI Scientific Initiatives and Education Committees.
