Biography
My major is in Journalism and Sciences of Communication. After that, I did a master's in Sciences of Language and a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology. I have a position at the Faculty of Psychology of the Universidad de la República, in Uruguay, a tiny country in South America. My research team devotes understanding and describing the weight of perceptive, motor, and emotional information in the processing of meaning. Language is prominent in how human beings produce sense. However, we share multimodal approaches in which sense (meaning) is not limited to language or is not its primary place in everyday communication. Additionally, we are interested in the cognitive mechanisms such as analogies, metaphors, and similes by which human beings create concepts and the meanings they carry.
