Biography
Maria Seton is an Associate Professor in the School of Geosciences, University of Sydney, and a former ARC Future Fellow and Australian Postdoctoral Fellow. Her research focusses on using the marine record to understand global to regional plate motions, how the deep Earth and surface communicate and the role of tectonics in modulating Earth's long-term climate. While much of her research is global in scale and scope, she has a particular interest in the tectonic and geodynamic evolution of the SW Pacific and Zealandia. Her research is primarily funded through the Australian Research Council and industry, and supported by AuScope NCRIS infrastructure development.
