Biography
Thomas A. Ciarfuglia earned his M.Sc. with magna cum laude honors in Electronics Engineering from the University of Perugia, followed by a Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2012. He joined the Intelligent Systems, Automation and Robotics Laboratory (ISARLab), where he served as a postdoctoral researcher until 2018, focusing on Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), Visual Odometry, and Monocular Depth Estimation. Transitioning to industry, he worked as an applied scientist from 2018 to 2021. In February 2021, he joined as a Research Fellow the Department of Computer, Control, and Management Engineering (DIAG) at Sapienza University of Rome. His current research interests concentrate on Robotics and Computer Vision, with a particular emphasis on application in Precision Agriculture.
