Biography
Prof. dr Fedja Netjasov is a Professor at the Division of Airports and Air Traffic Safety (APATC), of the University of Belgrade - Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering (UB-FTTE) employed since October 1999. Educated at UB-FTTE, where he received his dipl. ing. (1999), M.S. (Magister - 2003) and PhD (2010) diplomas, all in Air Transport and Traffic Engineering field.
Additional professional experience he gained through: traineeship (1996) in Traffic Operations Department, Munich Airport (Germany) and internship (2000) in Operations Engineering Department, Zurich Airport (Switzerland) while scientific experience he gained as a guest researcher (2006) at TU Delft (The Netherlands) and at National Aerospace Laboratory – Air Transport Safety Institute (The Netherlands). He also attended (2007, 2008) three Safety Assessment Methodology courses (FSH, PSSA, SSA) in EUROCONTROL Institute of Air Navigation Services, Luxembourg.
He has a working experience of 25 years. Main fields of interest are: Risk Analysis and Safety Assessment in Aviation, Air Traffic Control/Management Modelling/Simulations, Air Traffic Complexity Modelling/Analysis, Airport Noise Control/Management.
He is a professional engineer, author and co-author of more than 25 research and consulting projects related to ATM and airports (including, most recently, AUTOPACE and APACHE under SESAR ER2 (2016-2018) and FARO (2020-2022) under SESAR ER4 as well as ENGAGE KTN (2018-2022)).
Also, he is an author and co-author of more than 105 papers (journals and conferences), co-author of the textbooks: “Air Traffic Control” (2011/2016/2020/2023 in Serbian) and “Design of Instrument Departure and Arrival Procedures” (2014/2016/2021, in Serbian) and author of the book “Air Transport Safety: An Introduction” (Nova Science Publishers, NY, USA, 2015, in English).
Since 2014 he is a Member of the Standing Committee on Aviation Safety, Security and Emergency Management (AV090) of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) of the National Academies, Washington DC, USA.
Since 2015 he is a member of the National Committee for Aviation Safety of the Government of Republic of Serbia.
Since 2018 he is a UB-FTTE representative in Association for the Scientific Development of ATM in Europe (ASDA).
Since October 2022 he is appointed member of SESAR 3 JU Scientific Committee.
