Biography

Myself, Sai Krishna AVS, currently working as R&D assistant under the guidance of Prof. MRS. Rao at JNCASR, Bangalore. I finished my Masters in Biotechnology. I am currently working on projects related to Glioblastoma Multiforme. My primary area of interest focuses on repurposing drug candidates thereby determining the causative changes in cancer associated cellular phenotypes. My work at JNCASR involves molecular cloning and purification of protein targets followed by assessing the target-drug interactions. I also work on identifying potential biomarkers in the stromal component of Glioblastoma tumour microenvironment using various bioinformatics tools and algorithms. During my post graduation, I worked on a project to identify the core virus signature and small molecules in virus associated Colorectal cancer under the supervision of Dr. Sainitin Donakonda from Technical University Munich, Germany. My master thesis is associated with Isolation, Culture, and Characterization of human buccal mucosal cells which also includes ascertaining the prognostic significance of differentially expressed genes in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma. During my graduation, I developed Phototrophic Microbial Fuel Cell, which can extract energy from complex organic waste and helps in bioremediation.
