Biography

José Núñez-Martínez is Researcher of the Mobile Networks (MONET) department of the Communication Networks Division (CND) in Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC) since September 2007. He received the Computer Science degree in 2004 and the PhD in 2014 at the Computer Architecture Depart. of the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC). He has been involved in several national (SYMBIOSIS) , Eu (ICT-FP7 BeFEMTO) and industrial projects (VideoBond). He leaded an industrial project with Aviat Networks (SCALE). His activites involve tasks such as system and software design, and fast prototyping in the field of mobile networks.

Prior to this, he worked as a software Engineer in the Advanced Broadband Communications Center (CCABA) of UPC from January 2004 to September 2007. He participated in several national and Eu projects involving kernel development and system administration.

He has co-authored more than 30 research papers. His current research interests include network protocols, stochastic network optimization, Software-defined networks, and Network Function Virtualization.
