Biography

Professor, Shuler-Foscue Chair
Roy M. Huffington Department of Earth Sciences
Southern Methodist University

My primary interest lies on the technique development of SAR, InSAR and multiple-interferogram InSAR processing, cross-platform InSAR processing, design of automated SAR/InSAR processing system, and application of InSAR technologies to image ground-surface deformation related to the study of volcanic, seismic, tectonic and hydrologic processes. My research topics also include the mapping of water-level changes of wetlands, vegetation characterization, fire scar, soil moisture, water extent, glacier dynamics and arctic ice with SAR/InSAR. My projects have been funded by USGS, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), European Space Agency (ESA), Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), and German Space Agency (DLR).
