Biography

After a varied research career, I currently focus on the development and implementation of 'bench-to-bedside' solutions in the fight against the global endemic of antimicrobial resistance. Such an approach requires the establishment of both international and interdisciplinary collaborations, and in this respect I have been / am involved in 11 EU/JPIAMR projects (3 as coordinator). These projects include the development and evaluation of novel AMP antibiotics, new antibiotic treatment strategies, studies on the human microbiota and also new (Point-of-Care) diagnostics.
