Personal information

Biography

Professor Young IL Park has nearly 20 years of experience in offshore engineering and wind energy applications, with expertise in wind turbine generators, wind farms, and the cargo tank design of LNG carriers, FPSOs, and FSRUs. Prior to joining Dong-A University in March 2016, Prof. Park worked on numerous wind farm development projects and several certification/advisory projects for wind energy applications at DNV as the country manager of South Korea. He has also carried out various LNG cargo tank design assessment projects related to the sloshing phenomenon. Prof. Park has been involved in multiple ship and offshore design projects, with a specific focus on fatigue design assessment. He holds a Ph.D. in 'Nonlinear Risk Assessment of Aging Structures' from Pusan National University in Busan, South Korea, which he earned in 2004.
