Biography

PhD in CIVIL Engineering specialized in wind, structural dynamics, probability and statistics. My PhD was focused on the reliability of structures through MONTE CARLO SIMULATIONS, while the post-doc research concerned the statistics of EXTREME WINDS. I worked for 2 years in the oil & gas industry as GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER with a focus on natural hazards (EARTHQUAKE) and the probabilistic risk assessment (pipeline corrosion, and geotechnical works). Afterwards, I worked in Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy for 5 years in the OFFSHORE engineering department. My major tasks were: 1) WIND STATISTICS; 2) WIND LOADING on the WTG towers during installation; 3) DEVELOPMENT and TESTING of mechanical DAMPERS against tower movements during installation. Among the secondary tasks, BEARING CAPACITY calculations of the WTG components in the pre-assembly area in ports. I currently work in R&D Consulting (MTS Group), where I employ my experience and strong background in wind engineering, PROBABILY & STATISTICS, Monte Carlo simulations and structural RELIABILITY for supporting different projects mainly dealing with offshore wind turbines.
