Biography
Marlon Lemos Dias holds a PhD in Science from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). He holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences - Biotechnology and a master's degree in Biological Sciences - Biophysics, both from UFRJ. He completed his PhD in the Postgraduate Program in Biological Sciences - Biophysics at the Carlos Chagas Filho Biophysics Institute, with a period as a visiting scholar at University College London. He is currently a visiting researcher at the Institute for Liver and Digestive Health (Regenerative Medicine and Fibrosis group) at University College London and a researcher at the Liver Studies Group of the UFRJ Precision Medicine Research Center (CPMP-IBCCF). During his doctorate, he received a grade 10 scholarship from the Rio de Janeiro State Research Foundation (FAPERJ). He was a tutor for Cell Biology I and II on the undergraduate course in Biological Sciences (UFRJ) at CEDERJ (Distance Education Center of the State of Rio de Janeiro). He has experience in organ and tissue bioengineering (with an emphasis on decellularization, recellularization and the generation of extracellular matrix-based gels from the liver), three-dimensional (3D) culture models, extracellular matrix, fibrosis, liver and gastrointestinal physiology, histology and experimental models of liver disease.
