Biography
ÓSCAR RUEDA. PhD in Architecture
Oscar Rueda is architect by School of Architecture of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (ETSAM) since 1995 and Doctor of Architecture since 2012. He has been Adjunct Professor from 2001 to 2005 in ETSA of Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, and Associate Professor from 2002 to 2018 in the school of architecture of the UEM, Madrid. Nowadays he is Adjunct Professor in ETSAM. His Doctoral Thesis “Bekleidung. The suits of architecture”, has been awarded with the first prize in IX Concurso Nacional Arquia of Doctoral Thesis, Fundación Caja de Arquitectos (2013), and with the first prize in X Bienal Iberoamericana de Arquitectura y Urbanismo BIAU, research section.
He has published scientific essays at international magazines like Arquitectura COAM, RITA, Revista Arquitectura y Urbanismo (CUJAE), DC Papers, etc. He is editor of the architecture scientific magazine REIA and director of Editorial Rueda.
In 1996 he founded their own professional office, Rueda Pizarro Architects in Madrid with María José Pizarro. Their work has been awarded in national and international competitions, among which are the following highlighted ones: X Bienal de Arquitectura Española 2009, Premio Nacional de Vivienda 2006, IV Bienal Arquitectura Iberoamericana 2004.
