Personal information

Biography

I am the Director of the Louisiana Tobacco Control Initiative (TCI) and an Instructor in the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Public Health Department of Behavioral and Community Health Sciences. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal Communication from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and a Master of Arts in Health Promotion from the University of New Orleans. I am currently pursuing my Doctor of Philosophy in Public Policy (with a concentration in Health Policy) from Southern University. I maintain certification as a Health Education Specialist (CHES) and a National Tobacco Treatment Specialist (NCTTS). With more than 20 years of experience in tobacco prevention and cessation program development, implementation, and evaluation, in community and health system settings, my current research focuses on health systems change strategies to increase the reach, demand, and utilization of evidence-based tobacco cessation interventions for socioeconomically disadvantaged and minority populations.
