Biography
Geographer and Assistant Professor of the Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning (IGOT-ULisboa). Senior researcher at the Centre of Geographical Studies of the University of Lisbon since 2017, integrating the RISKam research group. He is also a collaborating researcher at the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra (CES-UC), where he worked as a research fellow between 2011 and 2017.
Over time he has participated in several research projects, of which he highlights the FCT-funded projects FORLAND, MOLINES and DISASTER and the preparation of the Risk Management Plan of the Intermunicipal Community of the Region of Coimbra.
Currently, it develops scientific activity in the project Simulation of flood risk management strategies at the basin scale, under the programme of Stimulus of Scientific Employment. He also participates in the projects BeSafeSlide – Landslide Early Warning soft technology prototype to improve community resilience and adaptation to environmental change, MOSAIC.pt – Multi-source flood risk analysis for safe coastal communities and sustainable development and the Interreg Sudoe project RISKCOAST – Desarrollo de herramientas para prevenir y gestionar los riesgos geológicos en la costa ligados al cambio climático. Recently, he collaborated with the ISISE of UMinho in the application for exploratory projects of the MIT-Portugal program, having been approved the application MIT-RSC – Multi-risk Interactions Towards Resilient and Sustainable Cities, to start in the 2nd half of 2020.
