Biography

Karan Shah graduated from Amity University, Noida with a B.Tech in Biotechnology in 2008 and from The University of Sheffield with an MSc in Molecular Medicine in 2009. Karan completed his NIHR Biomedical Research Unit for Musculoskeletal Disease funded PhD investigating the effects of metal ions and nanoparticles on bone cell physiology in February 2014. This was followed by a post-doctoral project investigating the biological effects of tribocorrosion products on the bone microenvironment and prosthesis osseo-integration, a project funded by Orthopaedic Research UK. Karan has moved his research focus to bone and cancer and works on breast cancer induced bone disease and progression of primary bone cancers.
