Biography
Camila Lamartine Mariz Barbosa is a PhD in Communication Sciences with a specialization in Communication and Social Sciences, where she investigates cyberactivism, cyberfeminism, more precisely the 8M transnational movement, also addressing the relationship between intersectionality and fourth wave feminism. She completed a master's degree in Branding and Fashion Design (2019) at the University of Beira Interior (UBI) in association with the Faculty of Design Technology and Communication of the European University (IADE) with a dissertation about the influence of feminism in the branding of Portuguese fashion brands. Recognizing some communications at national and international conferences, with publications in the same scope, her research interests include the relationship between journalism, feminism and the public, gender, fashion, new media and digital activism. She is a member of the Portuguese Association of Communication Sciences (SOPCOM), researcher at NOVA Communication Institute (ICNOVA) and director of the Gender and Justice Research Group linked to the University of Lisbon (FDUL), maintaining constant involvement in organizations and platforms dealing with women, gender and activism.
