Biography
I obtained my Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Tel Aviv University on the research of quantum conductance through semiconducting nanoparticles at high temperatures. Later, I joined the Department of Materials and Interfaces at the Weizmann Institute of Science for my Postdoctoral studies. Then I moved on to teaching Chemistry, Science, STEAM, and PlaceMaking to High School students and I got involved in several projects for the advancement of practical science education in Israel. I had the opportunity to teach chemistry in different educational settings, which lead to research and development in the field of science education, and working with teachers and students from varied backgrounds.
Nowadays I am Head of the National Centre for Chemistry Teachers which operates in the Chemistry Group of the Science Teaching Department at the Weizmann Institute of Science. There I developed an arts-integrated approach to chemistry teaching that applies existing research findings from the field of educational neuroscience to the teaching of chemistry. I also study the influence of implementing the approach, both at the teacher and student levels.
