Biography

PhD Professor in the Arts/Music discipline at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Mato Grosso (IFMT). In 1986, at UNESP he studied Composition with Sergio Vasconcellos-Corrêa. Bachelor of Music (Composition) from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP, 1996) where he was a student of composers such as Almeida Prado, Raul do Valle and Damiano Cozzella. Master in Music from the University of Brasília (2007-2009). PhD in Music from the São Paulo State University "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (UNESP [2014-2017]). Assistant researcher (2008-2009) at RIPM (Retrospective Index to Music Periodicals). He was a professor at the State University of Mato Grosso, in the Dean of Extension and Culture, in piano and keyboard courses (2001/2006). Develops research that covers Almeida Prado's composition, with an emphasis on Theory, Analysis and Musicology. Conducts research and practices involving themes converging on Musical Education in the area of ​​collective instrument learning, harmony, arrangement and improvisation. Member of the Brazilian Association of Musical Theory and Analysis (TeMA) and editor-in-chief of the newsletter "TeMA Informativo" from Jan/2017 to May/2019. In 2017, he received an honorary distinction - Comenda Carlos Gomes - from SBACE (Brazilian Society of Arts, Culture and Teaching) in São Paulo (SP).
