Biography
PhD Professor in the Arts/Music discipline at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Mato Grosso (IFMT). In 1986, at UNESP he studied Composition with Sergio Vasconcellos-Corrêa. Bachelor of Music (Composition) from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP, 1996) where he was a student of composers such as Almeida Prado, Raul do Valle and Damiano Cozzella. Master in Music from the University of Brasília (2007-2009). PhD in Music from the São Paulo State University "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (UNESP [2014-2017]). Assistant researcher (2008-2009) at RIPM (Retrospective Index to Music Periodicals). He was a professor at the State University of Mato Grosso, in the Dean of Extension and Culture, in piano and keyboard courses (2001/2006). Develops research that covers Almeida Prado's composition, with an emphasis on Theory, Analysis and Musicology. Conducts research and practices involving themes converging on Musical Education in the area of collective instrument learning, harmony, arrangement and improvisation. Member of the Brazilian Association of Musical Theory and Analysis (TeMA) and editor-in-chief of the newsletter "TeMA Informativo" from Jan/2017 to May/2019. In 2017, he received an honorary distinction - Comenda Carlos Gomes - from SBACE (Brazilian Society of Arts, Culture and Teaching) in São Paulo (SP).
