Biography

Christoph Posch is co-founder and CTO of Prophesee, a start-up company developing neuromorphic event-based vision technology. He has 25 years of experience in semiconductor research and industry with a focus on integrated CMOS circuits for sensing, imaging, artificial vision and analog data processing.
After working on microelectronics design for high-energy physics experimentation at CERN, Geneva (CH) and Boston University, Boston (US) from 1996 to 2004, he helped founding the Smart Sensors group at Austrian Institute of Technology in Vienna (AT) where he was promoted to Principal Scientist in 2007. From 2012 he codirected the Neuromorphic Vision group at the Institut-de-la-Vision in Paris (FR) and was appointed Research Professor at Sorbonne University, Paris 6. In 2014 he co-founded Prophesee and since then serves as the company’s CTO.
Christoph Posch received M.Sc. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Vienna University of Technology in 1995 and 1999. He is member of the Sensory Systems (SSTC), Neural Systems and Applications (NSATC) and Biomedical and Life Science Circuits and Systems (BioCAS TC) Technical Committees of the IEEE, is an editorial board member of the Frontiers in Neuromorphic Engineering Journal and serves as reviewer of many scientific journals such as Nature Electronics, IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits or IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices. He has been recipient of eight scientific awards, has authored more than 100 scientific publications and holds 15+ patents in the areas of neuromorphic engineering, artificial vision and human vision restauration.
