Research interest:
Major field of study and interests; textile materials, soft ballistic and rigid composite plate for ballistics, textile structural composites, multiaxis 3D weaving, multiaxis 3D braiding and knitting, sandwiched structures, prototyping for forming the high modulus and low modulus fibers to make 3D preform architectures; flocked fabrics and flexible laminated materials; Technical textiles; Carbon and silicate nanospehere and nanotubes; Nanofiber and nanoyarns; Characterization, analysis and testing of micro/nano fibrous materials and analytical modeling. His current interest is nano-composites and high modulus fiber based preform formation for various end-uses including rigid plate for protection, medical textiles for artificial organs and industrial composite for structural load bearing components, Fiber/Fabric Surface treatment and Modifications, Fabric Surface Functionalization.
Short C.V:
Prof. Kadir Bilisik gained his PhD in Textile Engineering from Leeds University/UK in 1991. He worked as Assistant Prof. and had his post doctorate in Textile Engineering of North Carolina State University at Raleigh/USA in 1992-1994. In 1999-2002, he worked as a senior engineer in 3TEX Inc./NC/USA. After that, he was appointed as a full Professor in 2002 in Department of Textile Engineering in Erciyes University. He has 13 national and international patents and 100 SCI or SCI-EXP papers; 16 book chapters; 10 national conference and 58 international conference proceeding and 22 technical publications. Therefore, he has total 219 publications related to fiber based various disciplines.
