Personal information
Biography
I am currently completing a PhD on public health intelligence challenges for local authorities responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
I am a registered public health practitioner with experience of working in Public Health Intelligence. I began my career in Public Health as an analyst within the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Horizon Scanning Centre at The University of Birmingham (England). Whilst there, I provided advanced notice of emerging health technologies to UK health policy makers. In 2013 I moved into a local government public health team as a Principal Information Analyst managing the team's Evidence function. This role gave me experience in public health management, providing public health advice to the health service and, in particular, Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA).
Besides a first degree in microbiology, I have post-graduate qualifications in Scientific Communication, Science and the Public, Molecules in Medicine, Evidence-Based Healthcare and Health Technology Assessment and Public Health Informatics.
My research interests include: Public Health Intelligence, Public Health Systems Research, Health Systems and Policy Research and Evidence Synthesis.
