Biography

Ajeet Singh is working as a Jawaharlal Nehru Fellow at the Institute of Environment & Sustainable Development, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. Currently He is working on agrobiodiversity management and associated traditional and indigenous ecological knowledge for enhancing the food and nutritional security of the growing human population. He is also validating various adaptive and climate resilient agricultural practices for sustainable food production and especially working on various resource conservation technologies for sustainable land resource management. He is one among the 22 scholars selected from 29 states and 7 Union territories of India for the highly prestigious ‘Jawaharlal Nehru Scholarship’ for doing PhD research in highly relevant field for the sustainable development of India. Recently he has bagged the prestigious NASI-Springer young scientist award for best presentation during the annual seminar of the National Academy of India (NASI, Allahabad) meeting at Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramoday Vishwavidyalaya Chitrakoot. He also received the International Union for Biological Science (IUBS), Paris Travel Award for presenting an Oral presentation during the ICPEP-6 at CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute, Lucknow. Currently he is editing a special issue in Agronomy journal (MDPI) entitled "Wild Crop Relatives and Associated Biocultural and Traditional Agronomic Practices for Food and Nutritional Security". He is also an assistant editor in IUCN-CEM Agroecosystem Newsletter.
