Biography

Weifang Zhang, Ph.D, Professor Zhang have been serveing as the Senior Vice President at the Stomatology Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine since Dec. 2018. Prior to that, she served as the Vice President at the Children’s Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine from 2009 to 2018. Professor Zhang’ research interests focus on health care,,health behavior,health policy and hospital administration. Her previous research works like :“Social-Economic Impact toward Children’s Survival in Zhejiang Province under The Current Population Policy”，“The Development and Study of Child life Implementation in Clinics”，“Establishment of screening, diagnosis and social intervention system for neonatal genetic metabolic diseases”all brought great social,economical and environmental impacts.She is also passionate with health promotion and public service and has established more than 20 funds for child health and health promotion.Given the efforts in advocating the public to pay attention to genetic metabolic diseases, the newborn screening work proposal was given an important instruction by Premier Wen Jiabao as a national internal reference in 2007 and then it effectively promoted the newborns’ screening work in China and causes a strong repercussion of society. Recently, Prof. Zhang has been focused her research on dental health promotion and digital oral health treatment, now she is the Chair of the Digital Oral Health Promotion Committee of Zhejiang province and Council member of Chinese Health Policy, Management, & Teaching Association.
